Fall/Winter 2026 marks the second chapter in the creative partnership between Song for the Mute and adidas Running. While the inaugural collection was an invitation to take a 'first breath', a tentative entry into movement, RUN02 explores a newly formed devotion to the practice. Shifting focus from the awkward grace of beginning to the rhythm of staying within it, RUN02 reflects on the quiet, repeated moments that frame a runner's life.

RUN02 is a tribute to endurance in its most poetic sense, not performance as spectacle or the pursuit of elite timelines, but the rituals that accumulate around movement. Designed for the "Song Runner" who moves with intuition, it celebrates gathering before sunrise, clothes drying after a run in the rain, the familiar route home, and shared rituals. Grounded in the central ethos of ‘Run In Love’, the collection proposes that movement can be motivated by affection rather than achievement; affection for people, places, routines, and the simple joy of forward momentum. A celebration of the personal ritual of running, the quiet, meditative headspace where comparison is discarded and the body connects directly with its surroundings.

The footwear offering broadens SFTM's curation of technical running shapes across two distinct franchises, both blending handwritten details directly into adidas' performance context. The Supernova Rise 3 SFTM reimagines everyday running through grounded tones, playful imperfection & hand-drawn details. It’s the reliable trainer, for every early risers and easy mile run, for the love of it, not the clock. Returning for a second season in antiquated off-white and earthen khaki, both feature midsoles with an irregular hand-drawn graphic and a handwritten ‘Song for the Mute’ mark by Creative Director Lyna Ty.

The Adizero Evo SL SFTM where SFTM’s mark-making is woven into the mesh and speed becomes something you feel, not chase. Executed with a custom-developed unevenly dyed upper incorporating SFTM's signature sketches directly, transforming handwritten notes into visual movement across the silhouette. Both seasonal models feature bespoke illustrated graphic insoles depicting fine-lined dragonflies, sun motifs, wild botanicals, and scrawled typographic mantras.

RUN02 apparel is built as a versatile layering system designed to move between running, recovery and everyday life. Performance materials are balanced against Song for the Mute’s character-driven approach to storytelling. The palette deepens into sophisticated autumnal tones, balancing the raw chalk-whites, ivories, and deep carbons of RUN01 with saturated hits of mineral espresso, olive drab, faded lilacs, and soft stone tones.

Fabrics carry the familiarity of garments lived in over time, anchored by hand-drawn graphics developed by Song for the Mute. The visual identity opts for a deliberate, sketch-like execution where birds in flight, wildflowers, suns, fragments of handwritten notes, and repeated phrases appear scattered throughout. Typographic expressions such as "First Breath", "Intuition", "RUN RUN RUN", "Run In Love", "Simple Joy", and "Rhythm" appear typed and hand-drawn throughout the collection.

Inner technical layers introduce featherlight running shorts and lightweight, washed tanks that offer a nostalgic nod to race singlets of a bygone era through stonewashed and cold-dyed treatments.

Intermediate layers are crafted to feel loved and lived-in from the first wear. Relaxed-proportion unisex T-shirts arrive in sun-bleached and washed cotton jerseys detailed with faded archival slogan artwork. Long-sleeve gridded waffle tops feature contrasted design panels, incorporating insulating cold-dyed base layers complete with thumb-holes and structural overlock stitching. Graphics appear both printed and embroidered; the embroidery is intentionally designed to pill post-wash, alluding to years of wear and mimicking weathered running club gear.

Outer pre and post-run comfort features heavyweight terry fleece and multi-panelled waffle fabrics forming protective track pants and quarter-zip tracktops, providing warmth before movement and comfort during recovery. The range is rounded out by a lightweight perforated running cap, technical performance socks, and an all-over illustrated graphic bandana.

The accompanying visual campaign, directed alongside Song for the Mute and Creative Director Stephen Mann, and realised once again in partnership with Ethan and Tom, moves away from conventional athletic imagery toward something more observational. A series of still-life compositions document the traces running leaves behind: garments hanging beneath heavy grey skies, tumbling through washing machines, shoes resting beside unmade beds and morning coffee. These are not images of running itself, but of everything it leaves behind.

Alongside these quiet observations, the campaign follows a group of runners through city streets, apartments and coffee stops. The camera lingers on familiar moments: adjusting a shoelace on a concrete curb, leaning into a corner stride, eating a bowl of pasta after an evening run, recovering in an ice bath. Through natural textures, unpredictable light and everyday framing, the imagery resists spectacle in favour of something more honest. Together, the still-life and action imagery form a portrait of running culture beyond performance, reflecting the collection's central sentiment: to trust intuition, embrace repetition and keep returning.

The collection explores running not as a destination, but as a shared practice woven into everyday life. An accumulation of friendships, routines, memories, and repeated returns.
