Along a guided tour of Creative Director Lyna Ty’s childhood home in Paris’ 13th, Song for the Mute took part in a collaborative project with local creative Marc LEBLOND and photographer Alexandre Gaudin to capture their 22.1 collection amidst the streets of the season’s namesake, Avenue d’Ivry.
The backdrop of vibrant storefronts and weathered concrete buildings is home to nearly 50,000 people, many a part of the area’s diverse Southeastern Asian community.
Images shot in the Quartier Asiatique - the ‘Asian Quarter’ of Paris - recall a unique cultural experience. The aisles of Tang Frères, hawkers with tartan trolleys and street stalls with jade bracelets are impressioned on Ty’s early memories, and as such, on the visual narrative of the collection itself.
